About The Position

As a level 3 facility, the Emergency Center is equipped to manage a wide range of medical emergencies including chest pain, minor and major trauma, hemorrhage, acute medical illness, drug overdose/substance abuse, psychiatric, and neurological conditions. The Beaumont Grosse Pointe serves over 52,000 patients annually, providing comprehensive emergency treatment and care to patients of all ages. Grosse Pointe Hospital is recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best hospitals in the nation and is a Magnet-designated facility, offering exceptional nursing and advanced care services. It is home to The James and Patricia Anderson Surgical Center, a leading-edge, hybrid surgical unit, and the Cotton Family Birth Center, which has received the Baby Friendly designation by Baby-Friendly USA. The Registered Nurse (RN) in this role, operating under the ANA scope of practice, utilizes the nursing process to provide professional nursing care. This includes incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and manage patient discharge. The RN delivers quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader, adhering to Corewell Health policies and procedures, and acknowledges the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes. The role involves partnering with and utilizing patient/family input and goals in developing care plans and teaching strategies, with appropriate documentation in the health record.

Requirements

  • Associates or Diploma in Nursing Required
  • Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years if new graduate/nurse with less than one (1) year experience
  • Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination
  • MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire/transfer from one of the following organizations - American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Canadian Heart and Stroke.
  • ACLS within 6 months of hire/transfer.
  • TNCC within 1 year of hire/transfer.
  • ENPC within 15 months of hire/transfer

Nice To Haves

  • Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years
  • Prefer RN experience. May consider New Graduates

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge.
