The Emergency Center at Beaumont Grosse Pointe is a level 3 facility equipped to manage a wide range of conditions including chest pain, minor and major trauma, hemorrhage, acute medical illness, drug overdose/substance abuse, psychiatric, and neurological cases. It serves over 52,000 patients annually, providing comprehensive emergency treatment and care to patients of all ages. It houses The James and Patricia Anderson Surgical Center, a leading-edge, hybrid surgical unit, and the Cotton Family Birth Center, which has received the Baby Friendly designation. The Registered Nurse (RN) in this role operates under the ANA scope of practice, utilizing the nursing process to deliver professional nursing care. This includes incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and manage patient discharge. The RN is responsible for providing quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader, adhering to Corewell Health policies and procedures, and recognizing the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes. Key aspects of the role involve partnering with patients and families, utilizing their input and goals in care planning, developing teaching strategies, and accurately documenting education and learning in health records.
