About The Position

The Emergency Center at Beaumont Grosse Pointe is a level 3 facility equipped to manage a wide range of conditions including chest pain, minor and major trauma, hemorrhage, acute medical illness, drug overdose/substance abuse, psychiatric, and neurological cases. It serves over 52,000 patients annually, providing comprehensive emergency treatment and care to patients of all ages. Grosse Pointe Hospital is recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best hospitals in the nation and is a Magnet-designated facility known for exceptional nursing and advanced care services. It houses The James and Patricia Anderson Surgical Center, a leading-edge, hybrid surgical unit, and the Cotton Family Birth Center, which has received the Baby Friendly designation. The Registered Nurse (RN) in this role operates under the ANA scope of practice, utilizing the nursing process to deliver professional nursing care. This includes incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and manage patient discharge. The RN is responsible for providing quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader, adhering to Corewell Health policies and procedures, and recognizing the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes. Key aspects of the role involve partnering with patients and families, utilizing their input and goals in care planning, developing teaching strategies, and accurately documenting education and learning in health records.

Requirements

  • Associates or Diploma in Nursing Required
  • Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years if new graduate/nurse with less than one (1) year experience
  • Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination
  • MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire/transfer from one of the following organizations - American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Canadian Heart and Stroke.
  • ACLS within 6 months of hire/transfer.
  • TNCC within 1 year of hire/transfer.
  • ENPC within 15 months of hire/transfer

Nice To Haves

  • Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years
  • Prefer RN experience. May consider New Graduates

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge.
