About The Position

The RN Clinical Educator is responsible for the development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of clinical education, onboarding, competency validation, and regulatory readiness activities across Ambulatory Operations. This position supports multiple specialty and community clinic locations and serves as a clinical education resource for registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses, medical assistants, clinic technicians, and other ambulatory staff. The RN Clinical Educator partners closely with clinic leaders, preceptors, providers, Infection Prevention, Quality, and Regulatory departments to ensure consistent clinical practice, safe patient care, and compliance with organizational standards. The RN Clinical Educator promotes clinical excellence through staff development, evidence-based practice, competency assessment, orientation support, and ongoing education initiatives.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
  • Three years of ambulatory, acute care, or specialty nursing experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in staff education, precepting, training, mentoring, or clinical leadership.
  • Current California Registered Nurse license and current BLS certification.
  • Strong adult learning and educational program development skills.
  • Knowledge of ambulatory nursing practice, regulatory requirements, quality improvement, medication safety, documentation standards, and competency validation.
  • Ability to assess clinical competence, provide constructive coaching, communicate effectively in writing and verbally, manage multiple priorities, collaborate across clinic locations, analyze learning trends, and support performance improvement.
  • Proficiency in Epic, OAK learning systems, Microsoft Office applications, and educational technologies.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, accountability, sound clinical judgment, and commitment to patient-centered care and Enloe Health core values.
  • Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • Ambulatory care experience.
  • Previous educator, supervisor, lead nurse, or preceptor experience.
  • Experience with competency program development, onboarding, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Certification in Nursing Professional Development, Ambulatory Care Nursing, or a related specialty.
  • Nursing Professional Development Certification (NPD-BC)
  • Ambulatory Care Nursing Certification (AMB-BC)
  • ACLS, basic EKG arrhythmia course
  • Additional certification relevant to assigned clinical areas
