About The Position

The Heart Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for their CVICU+ICU+PCU+TELE (Universal Bed CUB Model) position. This is a full-time night shift role, working 3x12s from 6:45 pm to 7:15 am. The position requires 1 year or more of bedside RN ICU or PCU experience, with strong Tele experience being considered. Cardiac experience is highly preferred. Requirements

  • Graduated from an Accredited Program with a specialized field of study in nursing.
  • RN license.
  • Must have BLS certification or obtain it within 30 days of starting.
  • 1 year or more of bedside RN ICU or PCU experience.
  • Strong Tele experience will be considered.
  • Cardiac experience highly preferred.
  • A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures.
  • Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area.
  • Understanding of hospital procedures and rules.
  • Proficiency in medical terms, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common meds, and their side effects.
  • Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
  • Exceptional communication skills, allowing for clear expression of thoughts both verbally and in writing.
  • Positive social skills to facilitate interactions with a diverse range of parties.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities, driving effective critical thinking.
  • Basic computer skills, encompassing areas such as Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee patient care using a professional practice model.
  • Conduct patient assessments, recognizing health issues.
  • Create and implement care plans, assessing patient responses.
  • Secure patient travel.
  • Understand patient needs in healthcare and help patients prevent issues.
  • Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.
  • Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs.
  • Evaluate care plans and adjust them to reach desired outcomes.
  • Build relationships, manage discomfort, and stay professional in therapeutic connections with patients and families.
  • Create care plans reflecting values to aid in resolving issues.
  • Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members, empowering them with knowledge for better healthcare choices.
  • Assess and document learning needs regularly.
  • Work with colleagues and the community to create a care plan.
  • Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.
  • Use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff.
  • Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.
  • Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, and commit to growth.
  • Contribute to peers' development and show commitment to community service.
