About The Position
Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital is seeking an RN to join its Intensive Care Unit team in Vero Beach, Florida. The ICU cares for patients with complex acute and chronic health issues across the continuum from admission through transfer or discharge. The nurse helps patients recover or provides comfort and support at the end of life, while promoting safety and reassurance throughout treatment. The RN provides direct nursing care, administers medications and treatments, carries out orders, monitors and documents patient conditions, and develops and updates care plans. The role also includes coordinating discharge needs and educating patients and families. The position is on the night shift, with weekend and holiday requirements.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
- One year of current acute care RN experience or licensed military RN experience.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- ICU RN experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients’ conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
- Educate patients and their families.
