About The Position
Worcester Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is hiring an RN Assistant Director of Nursing Services. The facility is a 146-bed skilled nursing facility in Worcester, Massachusetts, serving a large population of residents with substance use disorders. This salaried role assists the Director of Nursing Services in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing department. Compensation is $50 to $55 per hour, with weekly pay.
Requirements
- Current, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts.
- At least a Nursing Degree from an accredited school of nursing, college, or university.
- CPR certification.
- At least one year of supervisory experience in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related health care facility.

Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Nursing Services with planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing nursing department operations in accordance with applicable standards, regulations, policies, procedures, and scope of practice.
- Meet residents’ clinical needs.
- Help maintain and review clinical policies and procedures and provide input into their development.
- Ensure nursing policies and procedures are followed.
- Help monitor and review staffing needs, schedules, and work assignments continuously.
- Make rounds of each nursing unit and visually inspect each unit.
- Ensure medications are administered, handled, stored, and audited properly.
- Help the Director of Nursing Services review satisfaction with care and services by interviewing residents and families.
- Help develop nursing department safety standards; monitor employee incidents; and develop plans of correction and audit tools to prevent incidents.
- Help conduct monthly nursing department staff meetings held on all three shifts.
- Participate in government agency surveys and inspections and implement plans of correction for deficiencies.
