About The Position

The Village at Brookfield Commons is hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON). The role requires a Registered Nurse license and is scheduled Tuesday through Saturday. The Assistant Director of Nursing manages the successful operation of the Resident Care Department under the leadership of the Resident Care Director. The position oversees, coaches, and directly supervises resident care service providers; provides on-floor nursing support to residents; interacts with family members; conducts internal and external assessments; and is available for on-call needs.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse license, in accordance with state regulations.
• At least 1 year of RN experience in Assisted Living, Home Care, or Hospice.
• At least 2 years of experience in a care setting as an RN.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds individually.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
• Ability to be on call as identified by the community.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Certification in Gerontology through the American Nurses Credentialing Association.
• Knowledge of dementia care.

Responsibilities

• Manage the successful operation of the Resident Care Department under the Resident Care Director’s leadership.
• Directly oversee, coach, and supervise resident care service providers.
• Provide on-floor nursing support to residents and interact with family members.
• Conduct internal and external assessments.
• Be available for on-call needs as identified by the community.
• Communicate with residents’ families and friends.
• Assure compliance with resident-care regulations, including medication management.
• Document and maintain accurate records as appropriate.
• Demonstrate personal and resident safety methods and procedures.
