About The Position

The Risk Performance Analyst plays a key role in supporting and ensuring the achievement of enterprise goals. The Risk Performance Analyst works closely with key departments to proactively identify and address any new or potential overlapping financial, clinical, and/or client retention risks. The role is responsible for supporting the tracking of complex interdepartmental risks, engaging stakeholders to increase alignment, assisting in the execution of strategies, and providing reports on client and initiative performance to leadership stakeholders. The Risk Performance Analyst is part of the Business Intelligence and Analytics organization. They serve as and participate as a subject matter expert for new products and services being deployed across the organization that impact multiple departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 1 year of PBM experience or at least 2 years of experience in Analytics, Finance, Business Intelligence or similar
  • Excellent oral, writing and presentation skills; Able to develop and deliver clear, crisp, and customer focused messages and presentations to all levels company team members
  • Strong data science skills using tools like SQL, R, Python, or SAS.
  • Analytical skills, with the ability to perform complex analysis and make recommendations based on statistical inferences.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively within a team in a deadline driven environment. Build relationship & networking skills with internal organization
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years experience working with healthcare claims data and/or pharmacy data (i.e. Pharmacy Benefit Management, Managed Care, and/or Health Plans)
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or Domo

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the compilation of, development of, and reporting of strategic project developments that involve interdepartmental risks.
  • Develop strong working relationships with key members of different departments in a consultative manner to understand the business opportunities, identify risks, and develop strategies to solve for or minimize risks.
  • Perform analysis, including comparative analyses for a client or Book of Business across different time frames and track key statistics for priority clients or initiatives from several focus areas such as clinical utilization or financial performance.
  • Identify, analyze, and share conclusions based on findings of trends across the Book of Business as well as client level for various audiences (leadership, client-friendly, internal use by teams, etc.).
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders on new and ongoing monitoring, target/goal setting, or product strategies and solutions.
  • Conduct ROI analysis, performance monitoring, and identification of enhancements of existing products and solutions for external and internal partners.
  • Proficiently utilize internal and third party platforms and reporting tools needed (e.g., Databricks, Power BI, DOMO).
  • Effectively utilize project management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, JIRA, etc.) to communicate and track requests with other internal team mates.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects that involve the various risk teams.
  • Follow all defined practices, processes, and procedures with inter-departmental teams such as Finance, UW, and Client Experience.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key teams including but not limited to Client Account Management, Finance, and Care/Clinical Management.
  • Handle ad hoc requests from Care Management, Client Experience, and Finance teams.
  • Effectively support fellow peers, as needed.
