About The Position

St. Louis Children’s Hospital is seeking a Risk Management Coordinator to support patient safety and risk mitigation efforts. This hybrid role requires some onsite presence and focuses on reviewing and managing patient safety events. The ideal candidate will have a clinical background (RN not required) and strong experience with medical chart review. Responsibilities include coordinating interviews, conducting investigations, and supporting risk management documentation and processes. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business/HC Admin/related
  • 2-5 years of experience
  • < 2 years of supervisor experience
  • Clinical background (RN not required)
  • Strong experience with medical chart review

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate risk management activities to eliminate or minimize losses due to personal injury, professional liability, property damage or citations from regulatory agencies.
  • Identifies loss exposure, risk control priorities and implements practical problem solving approaches to prevent or minimize loss.
  • Develops and coordinates educational programs to employees on topics related to risk management, loss prevention, safety and regulatory issues.
  • Develops, maintains, distributes, and provides in-services, and periodically updates various manuals.
  • Works with legal counsel and insurance carriers in investigating all incidents, accidents, or events that could lead to financial loss.
  • Disseminates information on claim patterns and risk control.
