About The Position

The Risk and Safety Supervisor acts as the primary contact between the Risk Coordinators and the Risk Manager or the Director of Risk Management. In this capacity, the Risk and Safety Supervisor implements the written and verbal directives of the Risk Manager or the Director of Risk Management. The Risk and Safety Supervisor will maintain guest contact and follow-up for all reported guest incidents while promoting guest service and service recovery actions to resolve reported incidents. The Risk and Safety Supervisor will be responsible for department function and personnel, identifying and developing solutions to safety concerns, proactively engaging stakeholders in driving long term performance improvement in Safety at the property, creating and leading ongoing training efforts at the property as it relates to risk and safety, equipment and supplies necessary for the effective and efficient operation of the Risk Department, and other tasks assigned by the Risk Manager or the Director of Risk Management. The Risk and Safety Supervisor will oversee the development and implementation of department programs to reduce workplace injuries and ensure a safe environment for guests and employees.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • BS/BA degree in relevant field preferred or 2-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong computer skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint, and databases.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA and Safety management systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Customer service mentality.
  • Outstanding character and integrity.
  • Must have demonstrated experience successfully developing and leading safety programs in medium to large organizations.
  • Possess a charismatic and naturally outgoing personality.
  • Must be a dedicated team player working toward a common goal.
  • Must be able to work and stand inside and outside, sometimes in heat in excess of 115 degrees, or cold as low as 10 degrees.
  • Must be able to respond calmly in crisis and stressful situations, and be able to make rational decisions when handling guest and employee issues.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, jump, twist, crouch, grip, carry heavy loads and maneuver quickly on level surfaces, as well as, up and down stairs.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds. Must be able to push or pull up to 150 pounds.
  • Must be able to see and, also, remember the specific details of incidents and persons. Must be able to give court testimony when necessary and write detailed reports.
  • The Risk and Safety Supervisor responds to visual and aural cues, and must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing second hand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHO 10/30 Certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and implementation of department programs to reduce workplace injuries and ensure a safe environment for guests and employees.
  • Maintain and resolve reported Guest incidents of loss, damage, or injury with a strong focus on service recovery.
  • Work collaboratively to identify safety concerns and develop solutions.
  • Drive a reduction in both frequency and severity of workplace injuries.
  • Interpret detailed analytics within an operational environment to create.
  • Organize and lead property Safety Action Team meetings.
  • Participate in developing enterprise-wide best practices for safety.
  • Conduct and train others in completing detailed incident investigations.
  • Lead the use and ongoing expansion of the company EHS electronic management platform.
  • Champion guest safety by being attentive to exposures and areas for improvement.
  • Assist in guest incident resolution through existing best practices.
