About The Position

Join our Connectivity Automotive Applications team and help drive the development and adoption of our wireless microcontrollers for Car Access, Wireless Battery Management Systems (WBMS), and Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS). As an RF Hardware Applications Engineer, you will be an integral part of our team leading the revolution of connectivity in automotive use cases, specifically focusing on Bluetooth Low Energy, Ultra-wideband (UWB), and our TI WBMS Protocol. We are looking for an experienced hardware applications engineer with the passion and excitement to grow, innovate, and actively support automotive customers in designing, ramping, and manufacturing their products with TI connectivity products. This position requires someone who enjoys working in an international environment and brings a positive “can do” attitude. In this role, you will work closely with TI customers to understand their design challenges and partner with them on creating solutions, design optimization, and product improvement. This may involve on-site travel to customers to resolve issues and deliver presentations. You will also spend hands-on time in a world-class RF lab tackling technical challenges and delivering innovative development solutions that support our products and drive revenue.   • Experience planning, designing, developing, and characterizing RF development kits (LaunchPads), EVMs, and RF reference designs.
  • Experience testing and optimizing RF performance on customer HW and reference designs in a high-end RF lab.
  • Experience with Electromagnetic (EM) simulations and analyses of designs (balun, filtering, transmission lines, impedance matching).
  • Experience developing and optimizing RF PHYs.
  • Experience being a technical expert on RF/HW and providing technical support to sales staff and customers.
  • Experience developing technical documentation including application notes, user guides, design notes, and white papers.
  • Experience with internal and customer training.
  • Experience interfacing with various cross-functional teams (e.g. Designers, System Engineering, Software Engineering, Business).
  • Experience establishing key relationships with customers and field team.

Responsibilities

  • Answer customer questions and support design-in activities for released products, including forum and email questions, schematic and layout reviews, debugging customer problems by recreating issues, and on-site support.
  • Plan, design, develop, and characterize RF development kits (LaunchPads), EVMs, and RF reference designs.
  • Test and optimize RF performance on customer HW and reference designs in a high-end RF lab, including schematic and layout reviews.
  • Perform Electromagnetic (EM) simulations and analyses of designs (balun, filtering, transmission lines, impedance matching).
  • Develop and optimize RF PHYs.
  • Serve as a technical expert on RF/HW, providing technical support to the company's sales staff and customers.
  • Develop technical documentation, including application notes, user guides, design notes, and white papers.
  • Conduct internal and customer training through events like FAE summits and TI Tech Days, or written materials.
  • Interface with various cross-functional teams, such as Designers, System Engineering, Software Engineering, and Business.
  • Establish key relationships with customers and the field team.
