About The Position

The Retinal Medical Assistant (Mobile Unit) provides retinal imaging support at designated clinic locations using mobile retinal screening equipment. Training will be provided. The role assists with diabetic retinal screenings by preparing patients, operating approved imaging equipment after training and competency validation, obtaining quality retinal images, and ensuring images are documented and transmitted for review by the designated eye care professional. Other duties within the role’s scope may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Medical Assistant Certificate or Diploma.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in both front- and back-office duties in a clinic setting.
• Strong computer skills and acute attention to detail.
• Confident and professional communication.
• Ability to multitask in a high-paced environment.
• Organization, professionalism, customer focus, confidentiality, medical teamwork, and ability to create a safe, effective environment.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual in Spanish.
• Knowledge of general EMR/EHR systems.
