About The Position

The Retail Team Member provides fast, courteous service to guests shopping for souvenirs at Adventureland Park. The role involves welcoming guests, answering merchandise questions, promoting sales, operating point-of-sale equipment, maintaining merchandise and retail locations, and helping ensure a positive and safe guest experience. The position may involve working in one or more retail locations throughout the park, including indoor and outdoor environments.

This is a seasonal opportunity for applicants ages 16–17. The role requires a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays, and reliable transportation to and from scheduled shifts. Previous retail experience is helpful but not required.

Requirements

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Exceptional customer service skills, including the ability to address questions, problems, issues, and concerns positively and professionally.
• Ability to engage positively with guests to promote sales and customer satisfaction.

• Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English.
• Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for most of the workday.
• Ability to frequently stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above the shoulders.
• Ability to use a step ladder safely and properly.
• Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 40 pounds or more.

Nice To Haves

• Previous retail experience.
• Spanish or other bilingual language skills.
• Previous experience with point-of-sale (POS) technology and PCI compliance.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet guests entering retail locations.
• Initiate conversations with guests and help answer questions about merchandise and souvenirs.
• Maintain general knowledge of available merchandise, sales, and promotions, and promote applicable offers.
• Use suggestive selling and upselling techniques to help increase revenue.
• Resolve guest concerns courteously and promptly.
• Accurately operate point-of-sale equipment to complete purchases.
• Keep merchandise stocked, organized, and presentable, and refold or rehang clothing as needed.
• Help keep retail locations clean and safe.
• Assist managers and supervisors with inventory control methods.
• Process and return damaged merchandise according to company policies.
• Operate mobile retail carts when applicable.
• Rotate food and beverage products according to department standards and health code regulations.
• Use a step ladder safely and properly to reach higher shelving.
• Watch for possible theft by guests or employees.
• Notify leadership when supplies are running low.
• Report maintenance or safety concerns to a supervisor or manager promptly.
• Perform other duties assigned by leadership.
