About The Position

Work World is hiring a part-time Retail Team Member in Hayward, California. The role supports store success and growth by helping create a positive customer experience. Team members assist customers with products and services, maintain and replenish merchandise, process sales transactions, label merchandise, and contribute to daily sales objectives. The stated pay range is $17.36–$20.00 per hour, depending on experience (DOE).

The company operates more than 30 stores under the Work World, Shoeteria, and Whistle Workwear brands in California, Nevada, and Washington. Employees can develop leadership and organizational skills, sales and merchandising knowledge, customer service techniques, adaptability, and relationship-building skills.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Detail-oriented, with the ability to maintain a professional appearance.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Nice To Haves

• 1–2 years of retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Sales experience is a plus.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide customers with helpful information about store products and services.
• Assist customers with questions and requests in person and over the phone.
• Welcome and support customers with friendly, professional service.
• Maintain stock levels and replenish merchandise as needed.
• Process sales transactions accurately, including payments and receipt distribution.
• Label merchandise and ensure pricing is displayed correctly.
• Support the team in achieving daily sales objectives.
