About The Position

As the Retail Supervisor at RWB Thrift, you will support the Retail Manager and oversee the day-to-day operations of the sales floor. You will work with the retail team to provide excellent customer service, maintain store standards, and achieve sales targets. The role offers an opportunity to advance in retail with guidance and support from the Retail Manager. It involves supervising retail activities, coaching and developing team members, and ensuring efficient cashier operations and floor management. You will collaborate with the Retail Manager to improve the customer shopping experience, implement sales strategies, and contribute to the success of thrift store operations.

The workplace is busy and fast-paced, with noise from activity on the sales floor and production area, and bright lighting throughout the front and back of the store. The role involves regular interactions with customers, donors, and coworkers, and requires flexibility to switch tasks or departments and work in assigned areas as operational needs arise. Closed-toe shoes are required for safety.

Requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Basic computer skills, including MS Office, Teams, and Outlook.
• Ability to work independently and complete assignments within provided instructions, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
• Ability to perform essential job functions safely and meet qualitative and quantitative productivity requirements.
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 lbs and frequently exert up to 25 lbs of force.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform regular repetitive motions and manual tasks involving hand and finger dexterity.
• Ability to maintain balance and agility on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces and while performing agile tasks.
• Visual clarity at 20 inches or less and at 20 feet or more.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, busy, noisy, and brightly lit environment and to interact regularly with customers, donors, and coworkers.
• Ability to adapt to changes in tasks or departments and work in assigned areas as operational needs require.
• Closed-toe shoes are required for safety.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency in both English and Spanish is preferred.
• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Previous thrift, retail, warehouse, or customer-facing experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day sales floor operations, ensuring store standards are followed, products are processed efficiently, and customer service is delivered effectively under the Retail Manager’s guidance.
• Supervise and mentor retail team members, providing ongoing coaching to improve performance and foster a positive work environment.
• Ensure exceptional customer service by handling inquiries and resolving issues promptly and effectively, following the Retail Manager’s direction.
• Oversee sales floor inventory, ensuring products are stocked, merchandised, and accurately priced to meet customer demand and sales targets.
• Supervise cashier operations, including transaction processing and adherence to cash-handling procedures, under the Retail Manager’s guidance.
• Review key reports, understand departmental goals, and contribute to performance metrics while learning business operations with guidance from the Retail Manager.
• Work with the Retail Manager to implement sales strategies, optimize productivity, and contribute to thrift store operations.
