About The Position

As the Retail Supervisor at RWB Thrift, you will support the Retail Manager and oversee day-to-day sales floor operations. You will work with the retail team to provide excellent customer service, maintain store standards, and achieve sales targets. The role includes supervising retail activities, coaching and developing team members, and ensuring efficient cashier operations and floor management. Working closely with the Retail Manager, you will help improve the customer shopping experience, implement sales strategies, and contribute to the success of thrift store operations. The position provides guidance and support from the Retail Manager and exposure to business operations, reports, departmental goals, and performance metrics.

The workplace is consistently busy, noisy, and brightly lit, with regular interaction with customers, donors, and coworkers. Employees may be asked to switch tasks or departments and are expected to work in assigned areas as operational needs require. Closed-toe shoes are required for safety.

Requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Basic computer skills, including experience with MS Office, Teams, and Outlook.
• Ability to work independently and complete assignments within the parameters of given instructions, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
• Ability to safely perform essential job functions and meet qualitative and quantitative productivity requirements.
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds and frequently exert up to 25 pounds of force.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform regular repetitive motions and tasks requiring manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
• Ability to maintain balance and equilibrium on narrow, slippery, or moving surfaces and during agile tasks.
• Visual acuity sufficient for clear vision at 20 inches or less and at 20 feet or more.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, busy, noisy, and brightly lit environment.
• Ability to interact regularly with customers, donors, and coworkers and to adapt to tasks or departments based on operational needs.
• Must wear closed-toe shoes for safety.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency in both English and Spanish is preferred.
• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Previous thrift, retail, warehouse, or customer-facing experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day sales floor operations, ensuring store standards are followed, products are processed efficiently, and customer service is delivered effectively under the Retail Manager's guidance.
• Supervise and mentor retail team members, providing ongoing coaching to improve performance and foster a positive work environment.
• Provide exceptional customer service, handle inquiries, and resolve issues promptly and effectively in accordance with the Retail Manager's direction.
• Oversee sales floor inventory levels, ensuring products are stocked, merchandised, and accurately priced to meet customer demand and sales targets.
• Supervise cashier operations, including transaction processing and compliance with cash-handling procedures.
• Review key reports, understand departmental goals, and contribute to performance metrics with guidance from the Retail Manager.
• Collaborate with the Retail Manager to implement sales strategies, optimize productivity, and support the success of thrift store operations.
