About The Position

Metz Culinary Management is seeking a Retail Supervisor to oversee operations and employee management across retail food outlets, including a café, a food court featuring local and national concept brands, and grab-and-go outlets. The role focuses on food quality, customer service, hospitality, and customer relations in a cash-handling retail food operation, with front- and back-of-house responsibilities. The supervisor may assume the General Manager’s responsibilities and authority in their absence and assists with cash control, payroll records, and financial and human resources functions. The position may provide a stepping-stone for someone aspiring to become a Food Service Director.

Requirements

Related experience in retail food service management.
Ability to read and write, use simple math, and follow and give oral and written instructions.
Ability to handle front- and back-of-house responsibilities in a cash-handling retail food operation.

Nice To Haves

Experience in contract dining food service, such as hospital, school, college, senior living, or corporate dining accounts.

Responsibilities

Oversee operations and employee management across retail food outlets.
Maintain food quality, customer service, hospitality, customer satisfaction, and good public relations.
Order and purchase supplies.
Conduct weekly and month-end inventory.
Maintain food cost goals.
Develop and oversee production of the café’s daily menu.
Complete weekly production prep and pull sheets.
Train and schedule café staff.
Follow cash-handling procedures for registers and the safe.
Assist with cash control and payroll records.
Support financial and human resources functions.
Assume the General Manager’s responsibilities and authority in their absence.
Maintain a professional uniform appearance.
