About The Position

Horizon Hobby is hiring a Retail Store Team Lead for its new Retail Store & Experience Center in Champaign, Illinois. This on-site role helps create exceptional radio-control (RC) experiences and captures customer feedback and observations to inform future programs, merchandising strategies, factory tours, and customer experiences. Unlike a traditional retail sales lead, the position focuses on giving customers opportunities to see, touch, try, learn, and experience RC firsthand. The Team Lead introduces customers to the hobby, demonstrates products, coaches team members, maintains engaging displays, and helps store operations run smoothly. The role typically involves 20–40 hours per week, with weekends required. The store is generally open seven days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with shorter weekend hours. A permanent schedule is determined after hire based on store needs and staffing. Typical pay is $20–$22 per hour; the final offer depends on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.
