About The Position

The Retail Store Merchandise Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfying customer experience by engaging with customers and embodying customer experience principles. The role also maintains a clean, organized, and safe store environment while following operational, merchandise, and loss-prevention standards. Associates may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. The position includes customer service, cashiering, merchandising, merchandise processing, store recovery, and supporting store shrink-reduction and safety goals. Associates are expected to contribute to a positive store culture, follow company procedures and applicable labor laws, and perform other duties as assigned. The starting pay range is USD $16.90 to $17.40 per hour. Actual starting pay depends on factors including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. The role is at the TJ Maxx store at 663 Foothill Boulevard, La Canada, California.

Responsibilities

Deliver a highly satisfying customer experience through engaging and interacting with customers.
Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
Support and embody a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Maintain the merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards on the sales floor and help maintain and clean the entire store.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Follow labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
