About The Position

Guitar Center is seeking a passionate, goal-oriented Senior Sales Associate to help customers discover and purchase musical instruments and equipment. The role focuses on creating a welcoming store experience, meeting sales targets, sharing product knowledge, and building relationships with customers and the local music community. The Senior Sales Associate also supports and mentors other team members, assists with store operations, and serves as a keyholder who may open or close the store as needed. The position is based in Asheville, North Carolina.

Requirements

• Passion for music and a solid understanding of various instruments and products.
• Proven sales track record and ability to exceed targets.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to influence and inspire others to achieve shared goals.
• Flexibility to work additional hours if needed, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming environment and help customers find instruments and equipment that meet their needs.
• Achieve and exceed sales targets, including through upselling and cross-selling instruments and accessories.
• Maintain expert knowledge of products, including guitars and recording equipment, and help improve colleagues’ product knowledge.
• Build customer relationships and help Associates foster relationships with customers and the local music community.
• Organize merchandise displays, restock shelves, and maintain the store.
• Guide and mentor team members and support them with customer interactions and operational tasks.
• Open and close the store as needed as a keyholding team member.
