About The Position

The Lessons Lead at Guitar Center is responsible for creating a positive experience for customers and students by selling lesson and rehearsal packages, answering customer questions, and giving tours of the Lessons facility. The role supports growth in the lesson program and curriculum sales, coordinates lesson schedules with instructor availability, and helps ensure that lesson and rehearsal systems and schedules are maintained. The position also provides guidance to instructors and contributes to an inclusive, customer-first environment.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant work experience in musical instruction, administration, or retail non-instruction work.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service and handle customer service issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
• Organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-urgency environment.
• Ability to lead, manage, and mentor others, including a geographically dispersed team.

• Skilled understanding of Guitar Center retail systems and processes.

Responsibilities

• Increase lesson-program student count by driving and maintaining sales and promotional programs.
• Sell rehearsal space.
• Communicate with parents and students to ensure a positive overall experience.
• Guide instructors, including coordinating teaching and non-teaching schedules, and coordinate lesson schedules with instructor availability.
• Maintain and increase curriculum sales.
• Ensure systems are functioning properly.
• Maintain the facility’s lesson and rehearsal schedules.
• Provide customer assistance, including answering questions and giving tours of the Lessons facility.
• Lead, manage, and mentor others; develop direct reports and provide positive and constructive feedback.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
