Retail Shift Manager
About The Position
As a Retail Shift Manager at Lidl, you will help maintain the store’s standards and keep operations running smoothly in a fast-paced environment. You will motivate and support your team, take responsibility for the shop floor, and manage store operations and colleagues when the Store Manager and Deputy Store Manager are absent. The role offers responsibility and opportunities to develop as a leader and progress in your career, with training and support provided. The position is offered on a 30–40 hour contract and includes AM and PM shifts. Pay is £15.45–£15.95 per hour, with additional payments of £2.00 per hour for bank holiday work and £3.50 per hour for night shifts. Employment is conditional on satisfactory references and, if requested, a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check.
Requirements
- Experience leading a team to achieve targets in a bustling, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to delegate tasks effectively and motivate a team.
- Patience and a friendly manner, with the ability to remain calm in any situation.
- Passion for contributing as a key part of the Store Team.
- A proactive and encouraging approach to helping colleagues develop themselves and store operations.
Responsibilities
- Motivate and support the team, learning from Lidl’s Leadership and Company Principles.
- Solve problems quickly and delegate tasks.
- Create an environment where colleagues can succeed.
- Manage store operations and colleagues in the absence of the Store Manager and Deputy Store Manager.
- Handle freshness, cash processes, inventory, and stock management to ensure shifts run smoothly.
- Provide customers with a high-quality experience on every visit.
