Flex Retail Security Officer
About The Position
We are hiring a Retail Security Guard to help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for customers, employees, and vendors at Albertville Premium Outlets in Minnesota. The role requires attention to detail, professionalism, and a customer-first mindset. Duties may vary based on site needs. The position requires reliability, professionalism, and a commitment to maintaining a safe environment. The guard patrols assigned areas or maintains a fixed post, monitors activity and security systems, responds to incidents and emergencies, documents activity, supports loss prevention, and assists customers and visitors. The guard is expected to arrive on time in full uniform, remain engaged and proactive throughout the shift, and follow safety, training, and compliance requirements.
Requirements
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to stay alert and respond calmly in emergency situations.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow directions.
- Ability to write clear and accurate reports.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- State Guard license required.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3–6 months of security or life-safety experience.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks.
- High attentiveness and situational awareness.
- Dependable and team-oriented.
- Able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong work ethic and sense of urgency.
Nice To Haves
- Prior security or customer-facing experience.
- Familiarity with CCTV, alarms, or access control systems.
Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned areas or maintain a fixed post to monitor activity.
- Control access points and manage pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
- Identify and report suspicious activity, incidents, or safety concerns.
- Respond to alarms, emergencies, and on-site incidents.
- Monitor CCTV cameras and security systems.
- Complete daily activity logs, incident reports, and required documentation.
- Maintain awareness of surroundings at all times.
- Follow post orders, company policies, and safety procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of emergency response protocols.
- Inspect property for safety risks, including fire hazards and equipment issues.
- Support loss prevention and recommend safety improvements.
- Greet and assist customers, employees, and visitors professionally.
- Provide directions and support as needed.
- Maintain a visible, approachable presence on-site.
- Arrive on time in full uniform and ready to work.
- Stay engaged and proactive throughout the shift.
- Follow safety, training, and compliance requirements.
