About The Position

ScanScape is hiring a permanent, part-time Retail Scan Associate to collect in-store product data at assigned local retailers. Associates visit a designated selection of stores each week for 52 weeks a year, including holiday weeks, and use a downloadable mobile-phone app to scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including end caps. Associates also provide quantity information for about 45% of the products scanned. The collected data is analyzed to help improve product and retailer sales performance.

The weekly work includes scanning displays throughout the store, which can take several hours, and completing Custom Projects when requested by clients. These projects occur almost every week and may add 30 minutes to 2 hours of work per store. Associates must meet weekly deadlines and perform accurate, dependable work independently.

The listed route is a grocery store in Mount Carroll, Illinois, with work available Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday. Base hours average 2–5 hours bi-weekly across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional hours, typically 1–2 hours per week per store, are frequently assigned for special projects throughout the year, with greater demand from January through June. Full scheduling details are reviewed during the interview. The role involves continuous physical activity during the work shift.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old and hold a valid driver’s license.
• Have a reliable vehicle and minimum state auto insurance coverage.
• Be able to stand for long periods and access products throughout the store.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet in the air, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Be able to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Have attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Be a deadline-driven self-starter.
• Have access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Be tech savvy.

Responsibilities
