About The Position

ScanScape Retail Scan Associates visit designated stores each week to scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including aisle end caps. The collected data is analyzed to help improve sales performance for products and retailers. Associates use a downloadable app on a mobile phone to scan barcodes and provide quantity information for about 45% of scanned products. Associates perform weekly in-store data collection at assigned local retailers for 52 weeks a year, including holiday weeks. The role includes scanning the entire store’s displays each week and may include Custom Projects requested by clients, which add approximately 30 minutes to 2 hours of work per store in those weeks. Associates must meet weekly deadlines. The position offers workplace independence and some scheduling flexibility, alongside continuous physical activity during the workday. This permanent part-time role averages 4–5 base hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional hours, typically 1–2 hours per week per store, are frequently assigned for special projects throughout the year, with higher demand from January through June. The available route is for a mass merchandise store in Woodstock, Illinois, with workdays available Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday. Full scheduling details are reviewed during the interview.
