Seasonal Retail Sales Floor Support - San Leandro Rack
About The Position
As a Nordstrom Rack team member, you work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, moving and collaborating with teammates to create a welcoming and inclusive customer atmosphere. You help provide a quick and easy customer experience and keep the store clean and clutter-free. Flexibility is important, as you may work in different areas of the store to maintain cleanliness, support customers, and assist with sales, stock support, and fulfillment. Sales and customer service duties include keeping the salesfloor organized, replenished, and ready through re-merchandising and straightening; assisting with transactions across in-store, online, and mobile platforms; supporting fitting rooms; returning clothing to the salesfloor; organizing stockrooms; and following operational, merchandise, and asset protection standards. Stock support and fulfillment duties include receiving and processing merchandise, fulfilling and shipping customer orders, using inventory management systems, and assisting with store upkeep and general support.
Requirements

- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
- Ability to move continuously for 6–8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching.
- Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to handle bulky and awkwardly shaped items, including reaching for and lifting items above the head.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- For Stock Support and Fulfillment duties, ability to frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Work with the team to keep the salesfloor runway ready, sized, and filled through re-merchandising and straightening throughout the day.
- Assist customers with cashiering and transactions across in-store, online, and mobile platforms; operate point-of-sale systems, bag items, and handle bulky or heavy items.
- Support fitting rooms by greeting and assisting customers and sorting and returning clothing to the floor.
- Sort and return clothing to the salesfloor to maintain a clean, clutter-free customer experience.
- Keep stockrooms organized and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed.
- Demonstrate expertise in technologies used in the store environment.
- Follow operational, merchandise, and asset protection standards.
- Promote initiatives such as the Nordstrom Rewards program.
- Receive and unload freight, unpack merchandise, and deliver newly arrived items to selling departments.
- Fulfill customer orders promptly and in accordance with quality standards.
- Prepare and ship customer orders according to quality, packing, and shipping standards.
- Use inventory management systems to scan, process, and research merchandise shipments in accordance with inventory control processes.
- Help maintain clean and organized selling floors and stockrooms.
- Provide general store support, such as setting up special events, organizing the backroom, processing markdowns, and relocating fixtures.
