About The Position

Nordstrom Rack is hiring seasonal team members for Sales, Cashier, Stock, and/or Fulfillment departments at the Chicago Avenue location. Team members help create a quick, easy, and enjoyable customer experience in a fast-paced, high-energy retail environment. Applicants can discuss their preferred role during the interview process. Sales and Cashier duties include supporting fitting room experiences, promoting initiatives such as Nordstrom Rewards, organizing stockrooms and inventory processes, maintaining the sales floor, assisting with customer transactions, using store technologies, and resolving customer issues. Stock Support and Fulfillment duties include receiving and processing freight, delivering merchandise to selling departments, fulfilling and shipping customer orders, using inventory management systems, maintaining clean and organized sales floors and stockrooms, and providing general store support. The role requires clear communication, initiative, accountability, organization, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks. Stock Support and Fulfillment roles require frequent lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds and occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. A flexible schedule based on business needs is required.

Responsibilities

Create a smooth fitting room experience by greeting customers, taking them to fitting rooms, and sorting and returning clothing to the sales floor.
Motivate and inspire others to adopt initiatives such as the Nordstrom Rewards program.
Keep stockrooms organized and complete inventory processes, ensuring merchandise is checked in and accurately ticketed.
Maintain a sales floor that is “runway ready” through re-merchandising and straightening throughout the day.
Assist customers with transactions in a seamless and friendly manner.
Demonstrate expertise in technologies used in the store environment.
Defuse customer situations and provide timely, effective resolutions.
Receive and unload freight, unpack merchandise, and deliver new arrivals to selling departments.
Fulfill customer orders promptly and according to quality standards.
Prepare and ship customer orders according to quality, packing, and shipping standards.
Use inventory management systems to scan, process, and research merchandise shipments in accordance with inventory control processes.
Help maintain clean and organized selling floors and stockrooms.
Provide general store support, including setting up special events, organizing the backroom, completing markdowns, and relocating store fixtures.
