About The Position

Nordstrom Rack is hiring seasonal team members for Sales, Cashier, Stock, and/or Fulfillment roles at its Chicago Avenue location. Team members work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment to make shopping quick, easy, and enjoyable while helping customers find merchandise and deals. Applicants can discuss their preferred role during the interview process. Sales and Cashier team members help create a smooth fitting-room experience, promote initiatives such as Nordstrom Rewards, keep stockrooms organized, maintain a well-presented sales floor, assist customers with transactions, use store technologies, and resolve customer concerns. Stock Support and Fulfillment team members receive and process merchandise, fulfill and ship customer orders, use inventory-management systems, maintain clean and organized sales floors and stockrooms, and provide general store support. The position requires effective communication, initiative, accountability, organization, attention to detail, the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting, and schedule flexibility based on business needs. Stock Support and Fulfillment roles require frequent lifting and carrying of up to 25 pounds and occasional lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds. The pay range is $17.45–$18.15 per hour, depending on location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The position may be eligible for performance-based incentives or bonuses. Responsibilities

Greet customers and guide them to fitting rooms, then sort and return clothing to the sales floor.
Motivate and inspire others to adopt initiatives such as the Nordstrom Rewards program.
Keep stockrooms organized and complete inventory processes, ensuring merchandise is checked in and accurately ticketed.
Maintain a well-presented sales floor through re-merchandising and straightening throughout the day.
Assist customers with a variety of transactions in a seamless and friendly manner.
Demonstrate expertise in technologies used in the store environment.
Defuse customer situations and provide timely, effective resolutions.
Receive and unload freight, unpack merchandise, and deliver newly arrived merchandise to selling departments.
Fulfill customer orders promptly and in accordance with quality standards.
Prepare and ship customer orders according to quality, packing, and shipping standards.
Use inventory-management systems to scan, process, and research merchandise shipments in accordance with inventory-control processes.
Help maintain clean and organized selling floors and stockrooms.
Provide general store support, including setting up special events, organizing the backroom, completing markdowns, and relocating store fixtures.
