About The Position

As an Ashley Sales Associate, you will assist customers in purchasing furniture for their homes. No prior furniture or sales experience is needed; in-house training provides the product knowledge and skills needed for success. The position offers a guaranteed $2,080 per pay period during the initial 120-day training period. After training, associates may remain on the guaranteed pay or earn commissions on sales. The Alaska Ashley stores are locally owned and part of Furniture Enterprises of Alaska, which operates 14 stores and has additional locations opening soon. Requirements

Ability to listen to and understand customers’ needs.
Ability to succeed in a team environment while also working independently.
Ability to learn the POS system and general computer programs, including email and word processing.
Ability to move around the showroom floor, frequently walking, bending, sitting, and kneeling.
Ability to work retail hours, including weekends and holidays such as Memorial Day and Labor Day.
Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing and a background check.

Learn about products through informative meetings with manufacturer representatives.
Inform customers about the products the store sells.
