About The Position

Floor & Decor Sales Associates provide customers with friendly, accurate service and support in finding products for their projects. Associates help maintain a fast-paced, safe environment by keeping sales departments clean and well stocked. The role is suited to people who enjoy learning and helping others.

This position is available full-time or part-time. The minimum base pay is $15.10 per hour, with higher starting pay available based on experience. Some positions may require completion of forklift certifications through Floor & Decor. Where permissible by state law, certification to use heavy equipment requires successfully passing a drug test.

The job may involve occasional exposure to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The work environment is typically quiet to moderate. Associates must be able to perform the listed physical activities and exertion.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Knowledge of basic math skills.
• Customer service experience.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and work well under pressure.
• Ability to exert 30–60 pounds of force occasionally, 20–30 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
• Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects.
• Ability to frequently stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Responsibilities

• Connect with customers, ask about their projects, recommend products, and build excitement about their purchases.
• Provide exceptional customer service and exceed customer expectations when assisting them.
• Maintain assigned areas in stock, clean, shoppable, and safe condition.
• Work cooperatively with management and team members to achieve sales goals.
• Process customer purchases at checkout using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Process refunds and exchanges according to established guidelines.
• Follow established cash, check, and credit card acceptance procedures.
• Create price tags and merchandise signs.
• Stock, tag, and display merchandise.
• Act and work consistently with the company’s core values.
• Demonstrate and comply with the company’s safety processes.
• Answer the telephone according to company guidelines.
• Assist in other areas of the store as needed.
• Work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
