About The Position

Retail Sales Associates help ensure New Balance retail stores operate smoothly and provide exemplary customer service. Using expert product knowledge and proper selling techniques, they assist customers throughout the transaction process and positively represent the New Balance brand. The role includes customer assistance and product fitting, maintaining store presentation and stock, and helping protect merchandise and follow safety procedures.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Familiarity with cash register functions.
• Ability to quickly perform basic math.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift 4 lbs. frequently and a maximum of 8 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to kneel or squat frequently; move product boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. with assistance if necessary; stand for extended periods; climb ladders occasionally; and climb and descend stairs frequently, depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service using proper selling techniques, product knowledge, and the GUEST service model: greet customers, understand their needs, educate them about product features and benefits, solve problems or answer questions, and complete transactions through suggestive selling, multiple selling, and effective closing.
• Measure and fit customers with appropriate New Balance products.
• Inform customers about current promotions.
• Keep the sales floor neat, organized, well stocked, and looking its best.
• Ensure items are properly labeled and price marked.
• Protect products by greeting customers, attaching and detaching security tags, monitoring floor merchandise, and reporting shrinkage and security violations.
• Follow safety regulations, including proper lifting procedures, and promptly report accidents and near misses.
