About The Position

Retail Sales Associates help New Balance retail stores operate smoothly and provide exemplary customer service. They use expert product knowledge and proper selling techniques to guide customers through the transaction process while positively representing the New Balance brand. The role includes measuring and fitting customers, sharing product and promotion information, maintaining an organized and well-stocked sales floor, and following product-protection and safety procedures. This is a part-time seasonal position in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Familiarity with cash register functions.
• Ability to perform basic math quickly.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift 4 pounds frequently and up to 8 pounds occasionally; move product boxes weighing up to 50 pounds with assistance if necessary; kneel or squat frequently; stand for extended periods; climb ladders occasionally; and climb and descend stairs frequently depending on location.

• Past retail experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service using proper selling techniques, product knowledge, and the GUEST service model: greet customers, understand their needs, educate them on product features and benefits, solve problems or answer questions, and complete transactions through suggestive and multiple selling and effective closing.
• Correctly measure and fit customers with appropriate New Balance products.
• Inform customers about current promotions.
• Keep the sales floor neat, organized, and well stocked.
• Ensure items are properly labeled and price marked.
• Protect products by greeting customers, attaching and detaching security tags, monitoring merchandise, and reporting shrinkage and security violations.
• Follow safety regulations, including proper lifting procedures, and promptly report accidents and near misses.
