About The Position

The Retail Sales Associate provides excellent customer service, processes sales using POS systems, maintains store cleanliness, and restocks merchandise. The role includes greeting customers, answering product questions, and resolving issues to ensure a positive shopping experience. It requires a strong sense of urgency, self-motivation, and the ability to take direction while working independently.

The associate may work in the Outdoor Center, Lodge Gift Shop, and Bierhall as needed. The role involves varied hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, with additional hours during foliage season (August–October) and reduced hours during mud season (April–May).

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with customers and team members.
• Basic math skills for processing transactions and giving change.
• Availability to work varied hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift, push, or pull moderate weights up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to learn about products to advise customers effectively.
• Strong sense of urgency, self-motivation, and ability to take direction while working independently.

Nice To Haves

• Willingness to train in Yellow Dog inventory software used for receiving merchandise shipments.
• Willingness to take on additional hours during foliage season (August–October) and prepare for reduced hours during mud season (April–May).

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, provide product information, and offer recommendations.
• Accurately process cash and credit payments, returns, and exchanges using POS systems.
• Restock shelves and organize displays.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment; keep sales floors tidy and shelves dust-free.
• Assist with receiving shipments, picking up inventory from the on-site warehouse, restocking, and conducting inventory counts.
• Work in all von Trapp retail outlets (Outdoor Center, Lodge Gift Shop, and Bierhall) as needed during shifts.
