About The Position

The Salvation Army Thrift Store is seeking a friendly, dependable Retail Sales Associate to provide customer service, keep the store organized, and create a welcoming shopping experience for customers and donors. The role helps turn donations into funding for programs that support the community. The position is part-time, with a schedule of 20 to 24 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. Pay is $13.73–$15.73 per hour. Paid training on register and store procedures, along with ongoing coaching and support from store leadership, is provided.

Requirements

• Ability to provide friendly customer service.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Basic communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift.
• Ability to bend, reach, and lift or move merchandise throughout the day.
• High school diploma or currently pursuing.

Nice To Haves

• Previous retail, cashier, customer service, or thrift store experience.
• Experience using a point of sale system.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful service.
• Operate the register and process sales transactions accurately.
• Help open, close, and balance the register as assigned.
• Restock merchandise and keep displays neat and easy to shop.
• Help sort, prepare, and move merchandise to the sales floor.
• Keep the store clean, safe, and organized.
• Work with team members to support daily sales and production goals.
