About The Position

As a full-time Verizon Retail Sales Associate, you will work with a team in a Verizon retail store to generate sales, provide customer service, and help customers find technology solutions. You will learn about customers’ needs, recommend products and services, and close sales. The role also includes ongoing training and development in merchandising and inventory, contacting interested current Verizon customers, and engaging with the community at Verizon-sponsored off-site events. This is an onsite, worksite-based role scheduled for 40 hours per week. The position requires willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, with schedules provided four weeks in advance. Associates may also have opportunities to pick up additional shifts, particularly during summer, November through December, and peak vacation periods. The role is commission-based. The posting lists base pay of $16.00 to $21.00 per hour, with commissions tied to individual sales performance; it also specifies a starting base pay rate of $18.27 per hour for the Maryland location(s) on the requisition. Eligible bilingual speakers may receive an additional $3,000 annually after passing a language assessment. Compensation varies by geography, hours worked, and performance.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
One or more years of relevant experience, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays; the schedule is provided four weeks in advance.
Openness to pick up additional shifts, typically during summer, November through December, and/or peak vacation periods.

Responsibilities

Generate retail sales by using technology knowledge and customer service to expand the Verizon network.
Learn and uncover customers’ needs by creating connections and asking questions.
Recommend products and solutions that address customers’ needs.
Close sales through effective communication and intuitive technology solutions.
Participate in ongoing training and develop skills in merchandising and inventory operations.
Contact current Verizon customers who are interested in Verizon products and services by making outbound calls and sending text messages.
Engage with the community at off-site Verizon-sponsored events to expand the customer base.
