About The Position
As a Retail Sales & Recovery Colleague at Macy’s, you help create a welcoming shopping experience through genuine hospitality and attention to detail. You keep the store clean, organized, and visually engaging by maintaining merchandise displays, tidying fitting rooms, and ensuring the sales floor is customer-ready. You offer friendly, personal service and support the team in achieving sales goals. Colleagues prepare the sales floor for customers, stay informed about goals, new arrivals, top sellers, and promotions, and engage customers with a warm welcome and helpful conversations. Throughout the day, they recover the sales floor and fitting rooms, update signs and pricing, and support merchandise moves. They share loyalty program benefits, ensure customers have what they need, and close interactions with a sincere thank-you. The role also involves collaboration, continuous improvement, and learning from colleagues to support individual and store results. The position requires dependable attendance and punctuality, flexible availability for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, and the ability to communicate effectively, use electronic devices, and perform the physical requirements of the job. Requirements
- Ability to understand and communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Ability to read and understand employment policies and safety rules and procedures in English.
- Flexible availability for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Enjoy meeting people, learning about them, and sharing information.
- Resourcefulness and adaptability to changing priorities; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to use electronic devices.
- Ability to talk, lift, move constantly, stand, and reach with arms and hands.
- Ability to stand for at least two consecutive hours and lift at least 25 pounds.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and reach, including above eye level.
- Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Frequent use of computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers, and ability to process register transactions.
