About The Position

As a Retail Sales and Recovery Associate, you help create a welcoming shopping experience through genuine hospitality and attention to detail. You keep the store clean, organized, and visually engaging by maintaining merchandise displays, tidying fitting rooms, and ensuring the sales floor is customer-ready. You provide friendly, high-quality service and support your team in achieving sales goals.

You prepare for the day by reviewing goals, new arrivals, top sellers, and promotions. While assisting customers, you offer a warm welcome and create friendly, personal conversations. Throughout the day, you recover the sales floor and fitting rooms, update signs and pricing, and support merchandise moves. You share loyalty program benefits, make sure customers have what they need, and close interactions with a sincere thank-you. You collaborate with colleagues, take pride in your work, and strive to improve individual and store results.

This is a seasonal role at Macy’s Fayette Mall. Hours depend on business needs and colleague availability. Macy’s describes full-time colleagues as typically scheduled for 30 or more hours per week and part-time colleagues as typically scheduled for 12–24 hours per week.

Requirements

• Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Read and understand employment policies and safety rules and procedures in English.
• Have flexible availability for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Enjoy meeting people, learning about them, and sharing information.
• Be resourceful, adaptable to changing priorities, able to work independently, and effective in a team.
• Be comfortable handling electronic devices.
• Meet the physical requirements of the role, including standing for at least two consecutive hours and lifting at least 25 pounds.
• Be able to talk, move constantly, stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders.
• Have close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Frequently use computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers, and process register transactions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain merchandise displays and keep the sales floor clean, organized, and customer-ready.
• Tidy and recover fitting rooms and the sales floor throughout the day.
• Review goals, new arrivals, top sellers, and promotions to stay informed and ready to sell.
• Welcome customers and create friendly, personal conversations while providing high-quality service.
• Update signs and pricing and support merchandise moves as needed.
