RETAIL SALES AND MERCHANDISING ASSOCIATE
About The Position
Micro Center is seeking a self-motivated, results-oriented Retail Sales and Merchandising Associate to help customers find technology solutions and deliver an outstanding shopping experience. The role involves developing product expertise, driving sales through personalized recommendations, and keeping the department organized, stocked, and ready for customers in a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment. The associate assists with computer and electronics purchases, maintains product knowledge through ongoing training, and uses solution selling based on company direction and metrics. The role also supports merchandising and store operations, including freight processing, restocking, maintaining displays, price changes, opening and closing procedures, cycle counts, loss prevention awareness, and nightly store recovery. Associates are expected to meet customer service standards and handle difficult customer situations courteously and professionally. The listed pay range is $17.00–$30.00+ per hour, including base pay and commission. The position requires flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, and involves standing and walking throughout shifts, using retail equipment, and regularly performing physical tasks that include lifting and carrying merchandise.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of related customer service or related-role experience is strongly preferred.
- Sincere interest in helping customers select products that meet their needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and adjust priorities.
- Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the sales floor for the duration of each shift.
- Ability to independently operate retail equipment, including box cutters, totes, baker’s racks, flatbed carts, and hand trucks.
- Ability to constantly lift or carry up to 10 pounds, frequently lift or carry up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift or carry up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitive physical activity.

Responsibilities
- Assist customers with computer and electronics purchases while providing excellent customer service.
- Maintain product knowledge and participate in ongoing sales, vendor, and product training.
- Execute solution selling based on company direction and metrics.
- Maintain a clean work area and keep the department organized and customer-ready.
- Process freight, restock merchandise, maintain displays, and assist with promotional signage and price changes.
- Participate in opening and closing procedures and support store operations through cycle counts, loss prevention awareness, and nightly store recovery.
- Stay current on communications from customers, associates, and Home Office.
- Meet customer service standards and handle difficult customer situations courteously and professionally.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
