About The Position

The Temporary Retail Operations Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to Squishable’s retail team, helping ensure stores have the information, resources, and assistance needed to operate efficiently. The role reports to the Director of Retail and works closely with Regional Managers, Store Managers, and internal departments to coordinate day-to-day operational activities, maintain accurate records, and support retail projects and initiatives.

This is a temporary, hourly, non-exempt assignment through early to mid-January. Candidates must be based in either the New York City or Washington, DC corporate office. The role is fully remote and has no travel requirements. Pay is $27–$30 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in retail operations, administrative support, office coordination, or a related field.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, and general office software.
• Ability to maintain accurate records, organize information, and follow established processes.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while collaborating with multiple departments.
• Must be based in either the New York City or Washington, DC corporate office.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working in a retail environment or supporting multiple retail locations.
• Experience with NetSuite or other retail management systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support to the Director of Retail, Regional Managers, and retail store teams.
• Coordinate store requests, track outstanding issues, and follow up with internal departments and external vendors to ensure timely resolution.
• Assist with new store openings, relocations, remodels, and closures by remotely coordinating supplies, fixtures, equipment, and project timelines.
• Maintain and update retail operational documents, procedures, store communications, calendars, and the Store Operations Manual.
• Support facilities and maintenance requests by communicating with vendors, scheduling services, and tracking completion.
• Prepare and maintain operational reports, spreadsheets, trackers, and other administrative records.
• Assist with purchase orders, invoices, expense tracking, and vendor documentation.
• Coordinate with Inventory Planning, Warehousing, Finance, IT, and other departments to support store operations and resolve routine issues.
• Communicate operational updates, reminders, and procedural changes to retail store teams.
• Provide administrative support for special projects and other retail initiatives as assigned.
