About The Position

Guitar Center’s Retail Operations Associate supports store operations by handling inventory and shipments, completing daily tasks, and ensuring products are merchandised to provide customers with a great store experience. The role works in a collaborative, customer-focused environment and calls for initiative, strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to learn retail technology and systems. Guitar Center’s mission is to nurture lifelong musicians and help people experience the joy of creating music.

Requirements

Basic understanding of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Ability to work in a loud environment for 5–8 hours.
Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Ability to collaborate and build effective working relationships.
Customer-service skills and the ability to provide a positive customer experience.
Initiative and ability to identify opportunities or issues, learn quickly, and act without being asked.
Organizational skills, including prioritizing and multitasking with attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-urgency environment.
Ability to complete tasks thoroughly and on time.
Ability to learn and follow protocols and guidelines to protect people and company assets.
Ability to learn and use retail technology, systems, equipment, and computer programs.

Responsibilities

Complete tasks related to inventory control.
Ship and receive gear and other items.
Prepare and execute inventory cycle counts.
Stock and merchandise products according to a planogram.
Print and place point-of-purchase signage and price signs.
Handle cash.
Maintain awareness of and help control shrink.
Complete additional duties as assigned.
