About The Position
The Operations Associate supports Guitar Center’s retail operations by receiving and shipping stock and shipments, administering daily tasks, and ensuring products are merchandised to provide customers with a positive store experience. The role contributes to Guitar Center’s mission of nurturing lifelong musicians and creating an inclusive, customer-first environment. Successful associates collaborate effectively, provide excellent customer service, take initiative, stay organized in a fast-paced environment, protect assets, and learn the technology and retail systems needed for the job. Work includes inventory control, shipping and receiving, cycle counts, stocking and merchandising, signage, cash handling, and shrink awareness. The position requires working in a loud environment for 5–8 hours, and availability for weekends, holidays, and evenings.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Able to work in a loud environment for 5–8 hours.
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Able to collaborate and build good working relationships with others.
- Able to provide excellent customer service and connect with customers in a meaningful way.

Responsibilities
- Perform tasks related to inventory control.
- Ship and receive gear and other items.
- Prepare and execute inventory cycle counts.
- Stock and merchandise products according to a planogram.
- Print and place signage and price signs (POP).
- Handle cash.
- Maintain awareness of and help control shrink.
- Administer daily tasks and perform additional duties as assigned.
- Help ensure products are merchandised to support a positive customer experience.
