Macy’s Retail Merchandising Support Associate, also known as a Merchandising Colleague or Front of House Colleague, supports a seamless and inspiring in-store experience. The role executes merchandise movement and placement strategies, improves the visual appeal of the sales floor, maintains organized and shoppable displays, and ensures pricing and promotional signage is accurate and current. The associate is also a visible, welcoming presence who greets customers, listens to their needs, and offers helpful service. Working with colleagues across departments, the associate supports sales, contributes to a positive and hospitable environment, and helps achieve individual and store results. Daily work includes supporting visual merchandising by updating mannequins and resetting floor layouts in line with company directives. Associates recover sales floors and fitting rooms, update signs and pricing, replenish merchandise, assist with merchandise moves, and help reorganize and restock the department. They provide customer assistance, share loyalty program benefits, and help prepare the department for the next day. Full-time colleagues typically work 30 or more hours per week. Schedules include weekend shifts, and hours depend on business needs and colleague availability. The position involves frequent talking, lifting, moving, standing, reaching, and use of computers and other technology. Associates must be able to stand for at least two consecutive hours, lift up to 50 pounds, and stoop, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and reach above eye level.
