About The Position
Boscov's is hiring a Loss Prevention Detective to join its Loss Prevention team. The role uses retail loss prevention experience to reduce losses from theft and incorrect business procedures in a dynamic retail environment. The Detective performs loss prevention as part of the retail operations team, guarding, patrolling, and monitoring premises to prevent theft, violence, and rule infractions.
Requirements
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with customers, management, and coworkers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Availability to work varied schedules, including evenings, weekends, early openings, and late closings.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in retail loss prevention is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide loss prevention support and awareness through policies, procedures, and personal involvement.
- Conduct surveillance and assist police with shoplifter apprehensions.
- Perform store opening and closing procedures.
- Conduct safety audits, safety and fire prevention activities, and inspections.
- Respond to alarms.
- Perform insurance inspections and investigations.
- Guard, patrol, and monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules.
