About The Position

The Retail Loss Prevention Detective completes daily tasks related to store loss prevention and safety programs while maintaining positive relationships with Store Management. The role identifies and resolves internal and external theft, conducts apprehensions according to established policies and guidelines, and communicates with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives. The Detective supports store shrink-reduction goals, investigations, surveillance, and safety awareness, and helps maintain a safe environment. The position also requires accurate and timely paperwork, appropriate evidence handling, and professional participation in legal activities when needed.

Responsibilities

Complete daily tasks required for Store Loss Prevention and safety programs.
Maintain positive relationships with Store Management.
Conduct apprehensions within established policies and guidelines.
Communicate with store Associates on damage and shrink initiatives.
Identify and resolve internal and external theft.
Adhere to established shoplifter guidelines and policies.
Provide timely, courteous, and knowledgeable service to customers.
Promote honesty and integrity while maintaining confidentiality.
Observe, apprehend, and/or deter acts of dishonesty from outside sources.
Participate in investigations and surveillance as assigned.
Ensure apprehensions are consistent with store theft activity.
Complete and distribute paperwork accurately and on time.
Maintain appropriate evidence, understand law enforcement procedures, and participate professionally in legal activities as needed, such as police calls.
Coordinate and complete shrink-related activities in partnership with Store Management.
Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Encourage Associate use of shrink-reduction resources.
Promote safety awareness and support maintenance of a safe environment.
