About The Position

The Retail Loss Prevention Detective completes daily tasks for store loss prevention and safety programs while maintaining positive relationships with Store Management. The role helps identify and resolve internal and external theft, supports shrink reduction goals, and promotes a safe store environment. It conducts apprehensions in accordance with established policies and guidelines, participates in investigations and surveillance as assigned, and communicates with Associates about damage and shrink initiatives. The Detective also provides timely, courteous, and knowledgeable customer service and promotes honesty, integrity, and confidentiality. The position requires accurate and timely paperwork, appropriate evidence handling, and an understanding of law enforcement procedures. The Detective may participate professionally in legal activities as needed, such as police calls, and coordinates shrink-related activities with Store Management. It adheres to labor laws and company policies and procedures, encourages Associates to use shrink-reduction resources, and supports safety awareness. The position is at TJ Maxx Store 1441 in Great Falls, Montana. The starting pay range is USD $14.55 to $20.40 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

Complete daily tasks required for store loss prevention and safety programs.
Maintain positive relationships with Store Management.
Conduct apprehensions within established policies and guidelines and adhere to shoplifter guidelines.
Communicate with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives.
Identify and resolve internal and external theft.
Provide timely, courteous, and knowledgeable service to customers.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Observe, apprehend, and/or deter acts of dishonesty from outside sources.
Participate in investigations and surveillance as assigned.
Ensure apprehensions are consistent with store theft activity.
Complete and distribute paperwork accurately and on time.
Maintain appropriate evidence, understand law enforcement procedures, and participate professionally in legal activities as needed, such as police calls.
Coordinate shrink-related activities with Store Management.
Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Encourage Associate use of shrink-reduction resources.
Promote safety awareness and support maintenance of a safe environment.
