About The Position

Network technicians implement, maintain, upgrade, and repair networks and networked devices, including access points, routers, switches, POS systems, printers, and modems. They set up and troubleshoot connections in a variety of environments, using physical cables or wireless frequencies to provide adequate signal strength for client use. This flexible part-time, non-exempt position requires travel in various markets and reports to the Territory Manager. Training is provided.

Requirements

• Must be over 18 years of age.
• Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a vehicle.
• Previous IT or related technical experience.
• Technical aptitude and experience with cabling runs, management, testing, termination, and network provisioning.
• Excellent communication skills via phone, text, and email.
• Smartphone mobile device.
• Flexible availability.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of various networking technologies.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Aptitude for customer support.
• Ability to use hand tools frequently.
• Ability to travel, lift 60 pounds on occasion, climb ladders, reach overhead, and regularly stand, walk, bend, and reach.
• Ability to use a computer and telephone system.

• Relevant certifications; certifications are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Implement, maintain, upgrade, and repair networks and networked devices.

• Run, manage, test, and terminate cabling and provision networks.
• Test Wi-Fi networks and signals, including heat mapping.
• Install and troubleshoot access points, routers, and switches.
• Travel to locations in various markets.
• Communicate with customers and colleagues by phone, text, and email.
