About The Position

Plan and lead the activities of all stores within the assigned operational area, with full profit and loss responsibility, while following company objectives and policies to accomplish divisional and regional goals. Lead store teams in support of Dollar General’s mission and values, effective human resources practices, superior customer service, sales growth, inventory presentation and management, company objectives, productive scheduling, employee development, asset protection, and expense control. Identify and develop business opportunities across the area and communicate divisional and regional priorities to store teams. The position requires weekly travel in a company-provided vehicle, with limited overnight stays.

Requirements

Four or more years of retail management experience with progressively increasing responsibility.
Experience managing multi-unit operations in retail, grocery, or convenience store operations with full P&L responsibility.
Results-oriented leadership, including the ability to model employee development and uphold the company’s mission and values.
Record of achieving performance goals and objectives.
Financial analysis skills sufficient to interpret operating statements and other financial reports, manage budgets, and control inventory.
Ability to achieve results by leveraging resources, controlling expenses, managing merchandise, and communicating clear expectations.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with flexibility and adaptability.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including providing superior customer service, responding appropriately under pressure, and exercising good judgment in ambiguous situations.
Ability to collaborate effectively with a team using a participative management style.
Current driver’s license and acceptable driving history.
Ability to travel weekly in a company-provided vehicle, with limited overnight stays.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Big-box retail management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
