Retail Department Coordinator
About The Position
The Retail Department Coordinator at HomeGoods is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team, and maintaining an excellent customer experience. The role models exceptional customer service, supports store organization and cleanliness, and helps merchandise flow efficiently from delivery to the sales floor. The Coordinator trains and mentors Associates on merchandising and processing principles, monitors team productivity, coaches as needed, and partners with Management on training needs. The role communicates priorities and progress to management and Associates, supports store shrink-reduction and safety programs, and ensures compliance with labor laws, policies, procedures, recycling requirements, and applicable hazardous-waste programs. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.

- One year of retail experience and six months of leadership experience.
Responsibilities
- Create a positive internal and external customer experience.
- Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
- Orchestrate truck delivery and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
- Train and mentor Associates on established merchandising and processing principles.
- Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
- Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to support efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
- Ensure Associates complete tasks according to the store plan and prioritize tasks as needed.
- Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
- Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
- Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
- Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the backroom.
- Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous-waste programs.
- Communicate priorities accurately and effectively with management and Associates and provide progress updates.
- Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
- Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
- Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
- Promote credit and loyalty programs.
- Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
- Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
