Retail Department Coordinator FULL TIME
About The Position
The Retail Department Coordinator is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards and ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The Coordinator supports an excellent customer experience by engaging with customers, maintaining a clean and organized store, and modeling exceptional customer service. This role coordinates truck deliveries and merchandise flow to the sales floor, trains and mentors Associates, monitors team productivity, and helps ensure tasks are completed according to the store plan. The Coordinator maintains backroom organization, merchandising and signage standards, and compliance with applicable recycling and hazardous waste programs. The role also supports store priorities, safety, shrink reduction, credit and loyalty programs, and compliance with labor laws and company policies. The position is at the TJ Maxx store at 5020 Jericho Turnpike, Commack, New York. The starting pay range is $18.00 to $18.50 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
Requirements

- One year of retail experience and six months of leadership experience.
Responsibilities
- Create a positive internal and external customer experience.
- Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
- Orchestrate truck deliveries, prioritizing processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
- Train and mentor Associates on established merchandising and processing principles.
- Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
- Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to support efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
- Ensure Associates complete tasks and activities according to the store plan, prioritizing as needed.
- Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
- Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
- Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
- Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the backroom.
- Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs.
- Communicate priorities accurately and effectively with management and Associates and provide progress updates.
- Give and receive recognition and constructive feedback.
- Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
- Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
- Promote credit and loyalty programs.
- Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
- Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
