Retail Cleaning Associate
About The Position
The Retail Cleaning Associate maintains a clean, organized store environment, with a focus on floor care. The role includes operating floor-cleaning equipment and performing dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot cleaning glass and windows. The associate follows operational, merchandising, loss-prevention, health, safety, and labor policies and standards, and is cross-trained to support multiple store areas according to business needs. The associate helps maintain cleanliness and recovery standards throughout the store, including the sales floor, queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms. The role also supports customer experience and front-end coverage, communicates with management and colleagues, and contributes to a safe, respectful, and positive store environment. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Able to work a flexible schedule to support business needs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate a floor buffer and scrubber.
- Able to multitask.
- Able to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including listening and responding appropriately.
- Able to lift heavy objects, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Able to work effectively with peers and supervisors.

Responsibilities
- Maintain store cleanliness and organization, with a focus on floor care.
- Operate and maintain the floor scrubber and buffer; dust mop, damp mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, and spot-clean glass and windows.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and recovery standards throughout the sales floor, queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms.
- Follow company health and safety policies, including refilling essential items in the lounge, restrooms, and front end.
- Cross-train and work in other store areas, including the backroom, front end, and sales floor.
- Support and respond to front-end coverage needs.
- Follow the merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
- Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
- Follow operational and loss-prevention controls and company policies, including shrink-reduction guidelines.
- Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates.
- Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break-period policies.
- Participate in safety awareness and help maintain a safe environment.
- Model customer-experience practices and support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
